Fil hated the gray and I wasn't fond of it, so we repainted the door and sutters. Here is the final FINAL result...

Not sure how I'm feelin' about the sutter color. It is different than I expected. Sooooo, we'll see if I end up painting it over myself. Overall though, the house looks great.

They did the body color on the front of the house (far from finished) but you can get an idea of the color. I feel like (even though we had to spend extra $$ on the new color) that it was a good choice. I couldn't drive up to a house I hated every day!

I stopped the painters today because the color we chose was horrible. It looked white. Thank god the guy asked me if that was the color I wanted (he thought it looked a little light too). After talking to the head contractor guy, the paint guys sending me off to get samples, putting the samples up, and so on...we have come to the consensus that we like the top color. So that color it is! Not the best picture, but you get the idea.

The paint was delievered and they have about 1/3 of the trim done. Lets hope it continues at this pace! I am so glad we hired someone. there is no way we could have done this ourselves! The wooden skriting is covering up the cuts they made when removing the wood rot. It will be done to all 3 sides of the house. The front will stay stucco.

Debbie HATES thunderstorms, but we've found a new solution inspired from this anxiety wrap for dogs. The month of June has been rough for Debbie, but this discovery last week has improved her situation greatly.

February 15th-

Cindy has finally calmed down and went to sleep. I wish she was this calm all the time. She has OCD and gets very frantic and cries a lot sometimes. We think her first owners abused her because of this. She is very skiddish towards loud noises and quick movements. Poor baby. Good thing she lives with us now!

Gymnastics and Color Guard

I went to 2 performances for my students today. I've had these students for 2 years. One year as social studies students and then this year and last year in advisory as well. I can't really post pictures, it wouldn't be a good idea post pictures of my students.

Anyway, the first performance I went to was Student A's Color Guard performance. She did a great job broken finger and all. Nailed all her throws and did great on her rifle solo.

Student B did great on her beam and vault. Loved seeing her do all 4 events.

I got hugs from the girls and they thanked me for coming. It was neat to see them doing something outside of school.

February 12th-
I haven't been able to do a picture a day, so on the days I take photos I take several to make up for being behind. So far it is working pretty well!

February 9th-
My brother got a Doberman Pinscher puppy. Roscoe is his name. He is around 10 weeks old. I have had some practice in being a good aunt because he got his ears cropped and I had to respect his parenting style. Anyway, here are some pictures. Obviously he is spoiled. Thanks mom for taking my pictures for today. Roscoe needs some limelight, so Cindy and Debbie are taking the day off from the camera. Instead they are peacefully sleeping next to me on the couch.

February 5th-
I babysat my friend's kiddos Tori and Justin today. We had fun. It was 65 degrees here today! Yesterday the high was 20 degrees. So, we went to the park and then played with PhotoBooth! Here are some of our goofy pics. Of course we had to use every effect possible! Oh,

February 2nd-
Cindy had an accident again today because I got home late. Fil said it happened last week too. So, on Mondays and Wednesdays the neighbor boys are coming over after school and letting them out for us. 10 bucks a week (5 bucks a time). It is worth it because I felt guilty. Here is an example of how guilty I felt

This is going to be a LONG entry, I am 10 days behind. I've got lots of photos though!

January 19th-
Cindy and Fil sleeping. I woke at 1:30am and got up to use the facilities. When I came back I saw this. My camera was on the dresser so I had to snap a couple shots. Felipe asked me the next morning if I had been taking pictures in the middle of the night (whoops). But, at least I got these cute shots.

January 20th-
Me seeing how close up I can get my PhotoBooth program to take a picture. Pretty close...

January 21st-
Inauguration day! Here is a picture of my 6th graders watching the inauguration. They didn't understand the historic event. I hope someday they do!

January 22nd through January 24th-
no pictures, my life was too crazy for pictures during this time. But I took extras on some days...so I think that still averages to more than one picture a day since January 1st.

January 25th-

Me on the roof in my pajamas. I had to get the Dish Network receiver off so we woudn't get charged for it! I just climbed out the guest bedroom window and unscrewed it. Of course, I had to take the opportunity to take a picture of my pj clad legs on the roof!

Busy weekend!

Fil and I have been busy. We have gotten a lot done from my "Our week- we gotta have a plan!" post. I have a few new pictures to add from the past few days.

January 15th-
I took this picture on the way to school (while I was driving). It was too beautiful to pass up. I made sure there weren't any other cars around me when I snapped the shot and didn't look at the viewfinder so I could pay attention to the road. They turned out pretty good for "shooting blind".

January 16th-
Fil at dinner. We went out to dinner and I needed my picture for the day. So he humored me.

January 17th-
Cindy sticking her head out the window. She loves rides. Little did she know she was on her way to the vet to get her nails clipped. She hates the vet. We did take them to PetSmart before we went to the vet though. To have some fun before the pain.

January 18th-
Frozen meals for the next month and a shot of my favorite piece of equipment in the whole kitchen-my coffee maker. I love that thing!

I have OCD about my schedule...

Felipe starts his PhD on Tuesday and I am seriously stressing about my schedule changing. For 4.5 years I have had the same work schedule (and so has Felipe). I love not having to rush home in order to feed and let out the dogs. But, with Fil starting his classes Tuesday, I will be the one responsible for getting home by 4:30 to let the dogs out and feed them. This also means that I am going to have to bring work home, which is something I don't do often. I usually stay late at work and get work finished up so when I get home it is my time.

But alas, my schedule is changing and so is Fil's. I know as soon as we get going with things it will be okay, but the anticipation is KILLING me. On a happier note, the dogs will be super psyched that I am coming home early to hang out with them and I will be able to get my work-outs in earlier in the evening rather than running when I get home at 6. I am usually starving and can't run on a full stomach, so I have to tough it out and run hungry.

January 14th-
This is a picture of my desk at work. It pretty much depicts the kind of day I had...

So Fil and I went to Chi-Fil-A and had their awesome chicken nuggets.

Then I was a big meanie and made him stand out in the cold while I took his picture. It was 6º out and he didn't wear a coat! That'll teach him!

January 13th-
My "Use It, Lose It" vocabulary bulletin board that tells kids to use our new words and lose their old words. Example-> Use: irrigation, Lose: watering crops.

January 12th-
My awesome plant at school. This plant only needs to be watered 1-2 times a month and survives just fine in my classroom with no windows. It rocks! Know what kind it is? Please tell me!

January 11th-

Bedding to me is apparently addictive. I have promised Fil that I will not purchase any bedding from at least 6 months.

The homemade laundry detergent we've been using. It looks gross but it works well. Can't beat the price of 1¢ per load either! I found the recipe from here.

And of course, Cindy and Debbie (enjoying the new bedding). They are so spoiled.

Fil starts his PhD classes on the 20th so I am in a mad dash to get projects done around here that we have been putting off. My goals for the next week and a half are:

Get at least 10 meals in bags to be frozen (check!)
Synchronize calendars and devices (check!)
Finish painting the banister and railings (another day...)
Install the light fixture in the guest bathroom (check!)
Install the towel bars in the guest bathroom (check!)
Pick up the yard (check!)
Clean up the garage (check!)
Organize the office (check!)
Get tax documents together (check!)
Class (Tuesday and Thursday) (check!)
Clean the basement (check!)
Install dining room mini-blinds (check!)
Install dining room curtains (check!)
Install mini-blinds in the guest room and office (check!)
Oh yeah, and I guess we both have to go to work...(check!)

We'll see how much I get done!

Adding in some pictures I took. I am realizing more and more how much time I spend on my dogs. My life would be so boring without them.

January 6th-
The clock when I got home from class. I was out of the house from 6:30am-10:00pm.

January 7th-
Cindy and I in bed. I got my first migraine this week so I stayed home from work and my dogs nursed me back to health. I seriously hope I never have another migraine again. It was one of the worse experiences of my life.

January 8th-

January 5th

I have several photos today. Two of them are of me using my MacBook. I love the program Photo Booth! It is so fun!!! So this is me, being a goofball at home.

Here is Debbie and she has been sitting/laying on the couch facing the wall. She's been there for at least 20 minutes. I don't know what she is doing, but every once in awhile she sits and faces a wall.

Today was my first day back to work. I was kind of nice to get back into the swing of things. The kids seems pretty good, although they were very tired. They had too much playing over break. No one really said anything hilarious...be we did have a lot of kids who forgot their locker combos and didn't know which class they were supposed to go to because it was a new quarter. The joys of sixth grade!

I took a great shot of Cindy today trying to get my attention. She is now snoozing on the bed. She has been ultra needy today. Not sure why. Maybe she knows I have to go back to work tomorrow!

Grated Cheese! Not really!
I have discovered Fels Naptha soap looks exactly like grated cheese when you grate it for homemade laundry detergent! We made a triple batch tonight. Hopefully it works well because it averages out to only 1¢ per load! If you are interested in the recipe check out this site, she does a great job of explaining it all. I also think this grated soap would be PERFECT for a practical joke if anyone is interested in trying it!

Hello all! This is my first blog post. I should first start of about why my blog is called "In a Pinsch(er)". I have 2 beautiful Doberman Pinschers that are my LOVES. They are so awesome and my husband and I are totally gaga over them!

This is Cindy and Debbie playing outside on a brisk fall day. They are sporting their matching fleece coats. Like I said, my husband and I are crazy over our dogs!
